Protection contre les inondations et les sécheresses

(English Only) Tunis, Tunisia, January 7, 2014 – The African Water Facility (AWF) has offered a €1.8 million grant to the Government of Malawi to help prepare a project designed to expand irrigated agriculture in the Lower Shire Valley. The project will help overcome the adverse effect of prolonged dry spells and frequent flooding to improve and spread agricultural production.  

La Facilité africaine de l’eau (FAE) et la Banque africaine de développement (BAD) participent au rassemblement annuel à Stockholm, en Suède, du 28 août au 2 septembre. L’édition 2016 est consacrée au thème de l’Eau pour une croissance durable. Cet événement d’ampleur mondiale est l’occasion pour les professionnels du secteur de travailler ensemble sur les défis liés au développement du secteur.

Pour développer l’assainissement urbain, le drainage et la gestion des déchets solides au Mozambique, la Facilité africaine de l’eau (FAE) accorde un don de 1,8 million d’euros. Elle financera un plan et des études de faisabilité pour les municipalités de Chimoio et Inhambane. Les 310 000 habitants de ces régions sont confrontés à de sérieux problèmes d’inondations et d’assainissement.

The Government of the Republic of Mozambique and the African Water Facility (AWF) has entered into a grant agreement for a feasibility study on Urban Sanitation, Drainage and Solid Waste Management in Chimoio and Inhambane. The grant agreement was signed on 27th January 2017 by the Minister of Economy and Finance Adriano Afonso Maleiane and the Country Manager for the African Development Bank Joseph M. Ribeiro.The project was launched in workshops in Maputo on March 8, in Chimoio on March 9 and another one will be held in Inhambane on March 14.

The AWF held on February 21, 2017 a launching ceremony and workshop to officially kick-start the Water Resources Management and Investment Plan project for Somaliland. The AWF has provided a €3-million grant to support this project in the aim of building resilience to climate change and reducing water stress in Somaliland.
